This pose helps to open shoulder, chest, knee joint, thigh bone and pelvic area

Pose Level-1

Contraindications and Cautions:

  • Knee pain
  • Shoulder injuries
  • Wrist injuries
  • Pregnancy (2nd and 3rd trimester)

 

Alternative Pose:

Vajrasana, Virasana, Supta Virasana, Bhujangasana, Makrasana.

Reverse Poses:

Tadasana, Ardha Padmasana, Janusirasana, Garudasana

 

Benefits:

  • Low backache
  • Sciatica
  • Stretches the entire front of the body, ankles, thighs and groins, abdomen and chest, and throat, and deep hip flexors (psoas)
  • Strengthens the back muscles
  • Improves posture
  • Stimulates the organs of the abdomen
